There were three rockets which were fired on Israel from a small area of Lebanon. It is like hurling a stone at a mad Dog, chasing a Cat, and teasing it. This would obviously result in dog stop chasing the cat, but it starts chasing you.

Lebanon Government trembled with the new issue against blood savvy Israel. I am sure it doesn’t dare to do that. Then it must be someone who wants to gain from the war which will arose against Lebanon and Israel. The key thing now is how Israel will take the silly attack. Israel already replied the attacks with some artillery.

If it is going to take it seriously, then the conditions would be more severe than that of 2006 Lebanese war. The war lasted for almost six months killing many innocent civilians on both sides.

Besides bigger challenges on economy and foreign policy issues, Obama has also to cover much more sectors which have postponed crucial decisions till the election of new President. They all require immediate attention because they are going to lose a lot along with the delay.

As science and technology is one of them, it is our duty to estimate what he can bring to science and act or react accordingly. Obama’s speeches were very positive on issues with science and what I liked most among them is his “planet in peril” issue in one of his speeches regarding global environmental change, US wars on Asian countries, and most of all is the impact of financial crisis on new inventions.

If any one of you came across his campaign website regarding his plans for science, you can look at his positive promises like doubling federal funding for basic research and not distorting the results of scientific research for ideological ends, etc.

We have to still wait for some time for the President to implement his promises.

Barack Obama the Democratic presidential nominee returned to Hampton roads on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 night with a rally at Harbor Park in Norfolk. Obama rally started at 9.30 p.m. and doors were opened from 7.00p.m. Tickets were not required but an RSVP was strongly recommended for attending the rally.

Virginia could be a toss up, with Hampton Roads possibly decide which candidates wins the state as in recent research poll. Before six days of election Obama ahead in 8 battleground states, research poll on who wins in the elections gave a clear picture that Obama had more chances to win the election than McCain. Obama during the rally accused his Republican rival John McCain of bending low by labeling the Democrat as socialist.

As the elections are in just six just everyone are waiting eagerly to know who wins the presidential elections, many survey are conducted by different companies, publishing house and in survey the results are favoring the Democratic candidate Barack Obama will win the election.

The obama effort was the infomercial and ad is expected to create more favoritism for Obama and in this he explained about how is going to help in overcoming the current challenges.

Microsoft Corp. threw its weight behind investor Carl Icahn’s effort to oust Yahoo Inc.’s board next month, saying Monday that a successful rebellion would encourage the software maker to renew its takeover bid for Yahoo or negotiate another multibillion-dollar deal. The development gives Icahn a huge carrot to dangle before Yahoo shareholders as he wages a campaign to oust Yahoo’s nine directors at the company’s annual meeting Aug. 1. Microsoft’s support of Icahn also intensifies the pressure on Yahoo co-founder and Chief Executive Jerry Yang, whose handling of the earlier sales negotiations with Microsoft infuriated many shareholders.

If he seizes control of the board, Icahn has promised to fire the 39-year-old Yang as CEO and replace him with a more seasoned leader. Icahn has been arguing that a purge of the Yahoo board is the only way to salvage a deal with Microsoft a position that the Redmond, Wash.-based software maker backed with its Monday statement. Meanwhile, Yahoo has been urging its shareholders to re-elect its current board, arguing that Icahn’s alternative plan was based on the idea that Microsoft would renew its takeover bid something that Yahoo had been maintaining wasn’t in the cards.

Yahoo offered more skepticism Monday, even after Microsoft raised the prospect of a renewed bid if there were to be a changing of the guard. The Sunnyvale-based company said it believes Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is more interested in buying Yahoo’s online search engine than the entire business. “If Microsoft and Mr. Ballmer really want to purchase Yahoo, we again invite them to make a proposal immediately,” Yahoo said. Although it stopped short of officially endorsing Icahn’s slate of candidates, Microsoft made it clear that it didn’t believe it could negotiate a deal with Yahoo’s current board.

Google billionaire co-founder Larry Page criticized a potential Microsoft takeover of Yahoo, saying it would concentrate too much power in the online communications market, stifling innovation and curbing competition. But he discounted the idea that an advertising deal between Google and Yahoo – one the two companies are now exploring would present any potential antitrust problems.

In his first authorized activate for Google to the nation’s capital, Page spoke on Thursday at a forum sponsored by the New dweller Foundation conceive tank about expanding affordable access to high-speed internet service and opening up cellular networks to more applications, services and devices. The territory was friendly as Google chief executive Eric Schmidt was recently elected chairman of the conceive tank, which counts telecommunications and technology policy in its varied body of work. Schmidt, a board member since 1999, was not at the talk.

“Now, if you put 90 per cent of communications all in one company … that’s really a big risk, especially one (Microsoft) that has a history of doing intense stuff” he said. “So if you want to have good products you need to have some degree of openness.” However, ComScore earlier this year provided data that showed a combined Microsoft-Yahoo company would have about a 70 per cent email and instant messaging market share in the United States and a 77 per cent market share worldwide. ComScore figures were from December.

Court oversight of Microsoft’s market power began in 2002 after an antitrust settlement was reached among Microsoft, the federal government and 17 states, barring the software maker from seeking deals with computer makers to exclude rival software. It was intended to also keep the company from using its operative system monopoly to hinder competition in other products. Microsoft also faces scrutiny in the European Union, where regulators have opened two antitrust probes.

Page also talked up Google’s push to use fallow TV airwaves, or so-called white spaces, for affordable broadband service and other similar initiatives. He said Google is participating in a government spectrum auction to open up cellular networks to more devices, applications and services. Google had bid US$4.6 billion ($5.9 billion) for a swath of spectrum in an effort to impose provisions allowing any device or service to work on a resulting network, but lost out to the eventual winner, Verizon Communications.
