Enterprise Software also known as Enterprise Application Software (EAS), is a software that consists of a collection of computer programs with common business applications, tools for defining the working of the organization and developing tools that are required for building applications that are helpful for the organization. Enterprise Software is a software that is often used in organizations such as a business and a government.
Few examples of Enterprise Software are Supply Chain Management(SCM), Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) and Customer Relationship Management(CRM).
Enterprise Software provides services that are typically business-oriented tools such as online reservation and online payment processing, IT service management, Resource planning, HR Management etc.
Enterprise Software is based on two concepts. First is on-demand software which is available through widespread distribution of broadband access over the internet.
Second is the Software as as service (SaaS) or web based application. The vendors using the Software as a service concept maintain the enterprise software on the servers within their own company using a third party application service provider and then provide access to the enterprise customers through the Internet.
